NCH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

... A Place To Grow

Just like the tiny babies who thrive there, the NCH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is growing by leaps and bounds and needs to undergo a major expansion.  Currently, there are 9 NICU beds.  NCH averages 12 NICU babies on any given day.  Those numbers translate into a critical community need.  The babies, the families, the doctors, the nurses all need more space...space to grow and thrive!

Our Goal:  To DOUBLE the size of the NICU from 9 to 18 beds!  This expansion will not only accommodate our current needs but allow NCH to take care of more babies in the future.

Why Is This A Critical Need?  When there are no available NICU beds to care for a sick or premature baby, NCH has to send babies to other healthcare facilities, sometimes far away from home.  Unfortunately, when these transfers happen they disrupt the entire family, making it difficult for loved ones to be close to those who need them most, the newborns.

How Can You Help Make This Dream a Reality?  If you would like to help NCH in its efforts to expand and modernize the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, please consider making a gift to the NCH Foundation.  When you make your gift, simply note "NICU" in the designation field and your gift will go directly towards our goal of making the NICU expansion a reality.  Thank you for your support.  Please Give Generously Today!
